Slayers 2 — Slayers 2 Weapons & Crafting Guide — Sides, Drops & Upgrades gameplay

Weapons in Slayers 2 are bought, dropped or crafted — never rolled. The official FAQ promises 10 at release (7 Demon, 3 Slayer), while documentation and the launch balance patch name 12. This guide lays out what’s confirmed about each, where it comes from, and how the upgrade systems work.

Sides: what’s actually confirmed

The weapon showcase Q&A settled exactly two attributions:

  • Tanto → Slayer (dev-confirmed). A fast secondary blade: Phantom Barrage, Spiral Fang and Tanto Descent.
  • Claws → Demon (dev-confirmed). A posture-focused brawler: Tri-Claw Reversal, Predator Claws, Feral Frenzy. The launch patch raised its Z damage by 35%.

Everything else follows community lists (marked “unconfirmed” in our weapons database until verified): Shotgun and Sickles read Slayer-adjacent and Blood-Sickles-themed respectively in creator documentation, while Bladed Wagasa and War Fans are boss drops on the Demon side of the map.

Where weapons come from

Vendors — the starter katana sells for 500 Wen, the fancy katana at 1,500 (documented vendor prices from early-game runs).

Boss drops (the interesting ones):

Weapon Source
Bladed Wagasa Fujiko, the secret boss in Final Selection Plains — only source
Blood Sickles Gyutaro, red-gate cave by the waterfall
War Fans Doma, past Tengen at the Torii gate
Flame Katana Rengoku — upgradable to Volcanic Katana, the best repeat-farm target
Axe and Mace Also the extra gate for Thunder Breathing training

Crafting — the blacksmith in Mistfall Harbor opens a forge quest that also unlocks the endgame dungeon. The headline recipe at launch: the shotgun schematic, dropped by the Underground NPC in the Final Selection instance (about 5% per creator runs), crafted with ~100 metal scraps + silk thread + 25,000 Wen.

Style-bound weapons

Some weapons exist to gate or empower a breathing style rather than to be a main: the mason axe (dropped by the Stone trainee, required to train Stone Breathing), Sound’s dual cleavers and Stone’s axe-and-flail (community documentation). These likely sit outside the official “10 weapons” count — which is one explanation for the 10-vs-12 gap.

Upgrades: series items and refinements

Two systems stack:

  1. Series items — equipment sets. The launch series are Nightfall and First Light; materials are multi-source (no single-drop lock) and the V.06 hotfix added a Series material exchange shop at the Blacksmith so spare materials convert instead of rotting.
  2. Refinement upgrading — the late-game power curve. Creator runs document enhancement odds around 92% to downgrade, 8% to +1 and 0.5% to +3 at the top tier — bring spares, not your best piece.

Raid-tier bosses also drop Series Equipment sets (Armor, Haori, Mask with set bonuses) per community documentation.

FAQ

How many weapons are in Slayers 2 at launch?

Officially 10 (7 Demon + 3 Slayer). Documentation names 12 — the gap is tracked openly in our database rather than papered over.

What’s the best early weapon to farm?

Rengoku’s Flame Katana: a repeatable boss, a weapon that upgrades into the Volcanic Katana, and a short horse ride from the central line.

How do I craft the shotgun?

Get the schematic from the Final Selection instance’s underground NPC (around 5%), then bring ~100 metal scraps, silk thread and 25,000 Wen to the blacksmith.

Does the Lost Shotgun still exist?

Yes — the September 19 hotfix made it obtainable after launch-day reports that it was unobtainable.
