Most Slayers 2 progression walls are material walls, not level walls. You hit level 25 and every breathing trainer will talk to you — what stops you is the drop you did not farm. Here is where each material comes from and what it gates.
Demon Horns
Source: any demon, at roughly a 50% drop rate per launch-week runs — it is not a rare drop, it is a volume drop.
Where to farm: the cave of level 40 demons under the waterfall platform. It is the first dense demon spawn on the route, which is what makes it the standard farm — you can also start there early and skip ahead of the quest chain, though the cave has a boss at the back and the demons use Blood Demon Arts, so a level-40 quest sits there for a reason.
What they gate:
| Spend | Cost |
|---|---|
| Thunder Breathing unlock | 10 Demon Horns + 6,000 Wen |
| Wind Breathing unlock | 30 Demon Horns |
| Other breathing styles | Cost not published — the trainer quotes it in-game |
Because the rate is roughly one in two, a Wind unlock is about 60 demon kills. Farming the waterfall cave in one sitting covers it.
Beast Cores
Source: beast-type demons in the snow region, also around a 50% rate.
Beast Cores are the reason Sound Breathing reads as expensive: Sound takes Beast Cores instead of Demon Horns, so none of your waterfall-cave progress transfers to it. The beasts live alongside the cold biome that deals continuous tick damage, so bring healing while you farm — the same warning that applies to reaching Muzan’s snow-side spawn.
Ores
Source: largely quest rewards. The level 105 quest is the documented repeatable one — it pays 12,000 XP plus an ore, which makes it worth running even after the XP stops mattering.
What they gate: Blood Demon Art rerolls — players report buying BDA spins with ores, which is why ore demand spikes once you have an art you want to replace. See the demon arts database for what each roll gives you.
Crafting stock
Weapon recipes use a separate material lane — metal scraps and silk thread, both multi-source. The headline recipe is the shotgun: about 100 metal scraps, silk thread and 25,000 Wen. Full recipe breakdown is in the weapons and crafting guide, which also covers how Nightfall and First Light series materials convert at the Blacksmith.
Raid points
The dungeon’s currency is not an inventory material — it is a counter you spend inside the instance. 90,000 raid points buys a weapon variant, 30,000 buys upgrade components, and both XP and mastery are purchasable directly. See the dungeon guide.
Farming priority order
- Demon Horns first — they gate your breathing style, which gates everything else you will do.
- Beast Cores only if you want Sound — otherwise they are dead weight until much later.
- Ores once you have a Blood Demon Art — before that, there is nothing to reroll.
- Scraps and silk thread passively — you will need them the moment you get a schematic, and gathering after the fact is the slow version.
FAQ
Where do you farm Demon Horns in Slayers 2?
The cave of level 40 demons under the waterfall platform. Any demon can drop one at roughly a 50% rate, and that cave is the densest spawn on the early route.
How many Demon Horns does each breathing style need?
Two are measured: Thunder = 10 and Wind = 30. Sound uses Beast Cores instead, so no amount of Demon Horns unlocks it. The remaining trainers quote their cost in-game and we do not print guesses.
Where do Beast Cores come from?
Beast-type demons in the snow region, at around the same 50% rate. The biome deals continuous cold damage, so bring healing while you farm.
Sourcing
Drop rates and the waterfall-cave farm are from launch-week creator walkthroughs (2026-09-19/20). The level 105 quest reward is from the same run. Per-style unlock costs are only listed where a walkthrough measured them; the trainers quote the rest in-game and we do not fill those in. BDA spin pricing by ore is a player report from the official Discord, not a developer statement.
