About Thunder Breathing

Thunder is the S-tier pick for PvP ambushes in community rankings: Thunderclap and Flash (Sixfold) crosses the arena in a blink, Lightning Ball zones, and the launch patch made the X perfect-blockable while speeding up the C finisher. The devs confirmed two combat variants — Zenitsu's five-percent Flame Thunder God drop is the rare prize.

How to unlock

Find Gramps (Jigoro Kuwajima) below the Urokodaki waterfall — past the bridge, up the mountain behind the bamboo (level 25+ quest chain). Costs 10 Demon Horns and 6,000 Wen (creator-measured). Extra gate: an Axe and Mace drop unlocks the training.

Moveset

Key Move Effect
Z Thunderclap and Flash Windup 0.9s → 1.1s at launch, then cut to 0.45s in v.09 (tapping no longer skips wind-up); Sixfold variant at higher mastery.
C Heat Lightning Final hit lands faster, 0.65s → 0.4s (launch patch).
X Lightning Ball Can now be perfect-blocked (launch patch).

Move notes cite the official launch balance patch (September 19, 2026) where a change is listed — patch language like "Hyper Armor" and "Strict Stun" is the game's own.

Notes

  • Flame Thunder God: 5% drop from the Zenitsu boss per creator runs (single source).
  • v.09 (2026-09-20) nerfs: Godspeed speed 80 → 50; Godspeed, Lightning Fold and Rice Spirit finisher stuns cut 1.5s → 1s; Rice Spirit lost its strict stun and now requires a 0.3s hold.
  • v0.110 (2026-09-22) rebuff: Thunderclap and Flash and Rice Spirit cast 20% faster, with finisher stuns raised to 1.5s and 1.25s.
  • V0.2 (2026-10-03): Godspeed dash speed 50 → 65, and Z/X deal 25% more damage to NPCs and bosses; ranked-only — Godspeed deals 40% less block damage and cannot catch anyone for its first 0.2s, and Rice Spirit now stops on a perfect block.
